Traditionally, the day after Thanksgiving in the U.S. – commonly known as “Black Friday” – is viewed as a kickoff to the busiest shopping season of the year, leading up to Christmas. For many retailers, this period is a “make or break” time of year.
Over this past Black Friday and the subsequent weekend, our team supported a high-profile retail and eCommerce solutions client as it worked diligently and around-the-clock to meet and then surpass its highly aggressive goals. These goals included one that was more than double last year’s mobile phone sales. Meeting this particular goal was dependent in large part on the ability of our Client’s systems to scale and handle this level of volume.
We are thrilled to report that our Client not only met, but also exceeded, an already-aggressive sales goal. This great success is being attributed in large part to significant improvements in transaction processing time. Systems were scaled to support the heavy loads, and our Client’s resources were utilized at under 10%. This speed and reliability are not only a testament to our team and its months-long preparation, but also to its ability to architect and deliver world-class Cloud-based solutions to a retail client over the busiest few days of the year.
We worked closely with our client to select, design and migrate its recently acquired omni-channel application solution to the Cloud. In addition, we are currently providing 24x7x365 Cloud Managed Services. The result is an efficient omni-channel experience that helps retailers improve their customers’ shopping experience, while realizing greater margins and reduced IT spend.
