In recent years, Robotics Process Automation (RPA) has emerged as one of the leading technologies in the market for automating business processes within organizations of all industries and sizes.

While there are multiple industry reports about RPA as a growing trend, most of these studies are very high level. They do not provide much in the way of operational insights on how the technology is truly being used and the specific benefits that organizations have achieved.

Thus, Auxis surveyed organizations on their RPA initiatives to better understand RPA adoption statistics and share key findings through its RPA Survey Report.

What RPA Adoption Statistics Showed Us

Auxis’ survey collected information from over 100 organizations across all revenue sizes and industries to truly qualify where they were in their journey with RPA. This research provides a more detailed understanding of executives’ most pressing questions regarding the technology, such as the level of RPA adoption, the right implementation approach, and benefits delivered.

Along with this data, our report dives into why organizations have modified their back office day-to-day transactional activities to increase focus on value-creation functions, such as strategic planning and customer analytics. With many organizations already operating in a very lean fashion, RPA has proven to become a great tool to automate a portion of the lower-value tasks, allowing them to free-up existing resources and “do more with less.”

By getting beyond the hype, the success of the RPA initiatives was measured based on four different success indicators, all of which we break down in the report to provide actionable insights for your automation initiatives.

The Path Forward for RPA

Auxis foresees exponential RPA growth, with 87% of organizations planning to continue expanding their initiatives. This RPA expansion will be “broader” and “deeper” at the same time, extending to functions that have not yet been explored and expanding in three different dimensions that we discuss in the report. However, our study uncovered that both the RPA software providers and their customers still need to make great strides in the AI arena when it comes to Artificial Intelligence.

Additionally, even though industry experts believed RPA would reduce the need for outsourcing, this study has shown that there are multiple reasons why companies may not need to modify their proven Shared Services structure. We explore those reasons in the report.

Our report also contains the key takeaways from the survey: the main learnings companies that have already implemented RPA would want others to know when embarking on their own RPA journey.
