PLANTATION, FL (October 25, 2011) - Auxis, LLC (www.auxis.com), a leading management consulting and outsourcing firm, is pleased to announce its collaboration with the Boys’ and Girls’ Club of Fort Lauderdale and HandsOn Broward for the Auxis Makes A Difference Days.
On October 21st and 22nd, Auxis employees wielded paintbrushes and supplied elbow grease to make over two rooms at the Boys’ and Girls’ Club, Reitman Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The improvements included painting, furnishing and providing supplies for a new art room and teen lounge at the facility.
Auxis was made aware of the center’s needs through HandsOn Broward, an organization that offers volunteer experiences for civic-minded South Floridians to positively affect change in Broward County. “It has been a pleasure to work with Auxis on this meaningful project,” said HandsOn Broward’s Sander Schrantz. “Their dedication to improving the Club’s ability to meet the needs of local youth has been outstanding.”
Raul Vega, CEO of Auxis, feels community outreach is an important focus for the organization. “I am very excited about this event, and thrilled to be part of making a difference in our South Florida community,” he says. “Our company recognizes the importance of providing ongoing service to our neighbors. By simply taking a small amount of our time to improve the Boy’s and Girls’ Club, we can make a significant impact in young people’s lives.”
The new Auxis art room was completed with art supplies, digital media equipment, specialized art software, work stations and activities for all ages. The Reitman Center was exclusively a teen center up until this past year, when they opened up to younger children. Having an exclusive teen area was very important to the facility. The new Auxis teen lounge has an underground urban theme; complete with reading areas, a homework station and a stage for poetry or spoken word performances.
“Coming together as an organization is always important, but even more so when we join forces to do something meaningful for others,” says Renee Shindore, Marketing Manager for Auxis. “Our team put a tremendous amount of thought into the materials, furniture, and even the paint colors that were placed in these rooms. We really wanted these spaces to be relaxing and fun, and inspire creativity. It was important to us that the kids would feel like this was a home away from home, especially for those that spend a lot of time here.”
Auxis believes community service and volunteering are an investment in the local community and the people who live in it. “The Make a Difference Days were very rewarding for our organization.” added Shindore. “It was great to step away from the typical business day, and shift our focus to support youth and encourage their potential.”
