Denise Dickins, Ph. D., CPA, CIA, is an assistant professor at East Carolina University, where she teaches courses in Auditing and Corporate Governance. Prior to returning to school in 2002 to pursue her Ph.D., Denise was the partner in charge of Arthur Andersen LLP’s South Florida Audit Practice.

Denise is a member of the board of directors and chair of the audit committees of Watsco Incorporated (WSO), and Steiner Leisure Limited (STNR). She is also a member of the Florida Atlantic University Foundation Board of Trustees, and the Audit Committee of the American Accounting Association. Her research topics include the impact of mandatory auditor rotation, auditor offshoring, and the internal audit function, which have been published in various journals including, Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory, International Journal of Disclosure & Governance, and the CPA Journal.
